>reminisce the better days
>friendships that are long gone
>suddenly overwhelmed with a deep melancholy for the entire day
I can't really tell if it's melancholy anymore, or if I'm just depressed. Nothing I do seems to help fend it off. No matter what I do, the heavy feeling in my chest makes it hard to breathe. I can't seem to focus on anything.
What do you do to distract yourself from this feeling, frens?

>Saudade is a word in Portuguese and Galician denoting an emotional state of melancholic or profoundly nostalgic longing for a beloved yet absent someone or something. It derives from the Latin word for solitude. It is often associated with a repressed understanding that one might never encounter the object of longing ever again.
Pretty accurate... but how do I escape it?

You can't, the best thing you can do is treat the people you have around you well. The more loss you experience the worse it feels. Live life never taking people for granted, and make the most happy memories you can.
