I've never known a person that used "partner" to refer to a legally wed husband or wife. But I think it has a feeling of being weightier or more adult-like than bf or gf, even if it is a kinda gay word

Whenever a millenial roastie virtue larper says shit like this i tell them people think they are lesbians. It makes them seethe because they larp as le inclusive motherfuckers but deep inside they hate fags. I have this coworker that says this all the time, shes married to a sticc soiboi and i call him all the time "her boyfriend", not even his husband. Sometimes i go an extra mile when one of them is extra anoying about their larping and i tell them i would cut ties with whatever woman that doesnt call me her man because its disrespectful to not show recognition, value and love to your "partner" by claiming him as "your man" and talking about him like hes a disposable pet.

I don't know but is this common? Legit I shit you not the only time I have ever hit my wife that I remember is when she was talking about some shit and said I was her partner or something, I punched her in the stomach and she bent over to cry and over dramatically cry about it.

"Girlfriend" is an oxymoron. When it really comes down to it, there's no "friend" in "girlfriend". Women are just girls that you fuck and that's that. Try opening up to them and you'll see. If anything this whole "my partner" phenomenon is an accurate shift in language.
