There's this guy Simon Roper on youtube who has aphantasia and makes video essays on yt (yeah, ik video essays are cringe whatever but this is thoughtful stuff) about linguistics and he's done videos about internal monologues and aphantasia and he seems reasonably intelligent to the point where it feels pretty fucking stupid to identify such an arbitrary feature of consciousness as a requirement for intelligence or sophistication. There are visual artists with aphantasia so it seems visualizing isn't even as important as you would think even for tasks that seemingly require it. Deficits exist in all of us, human beings are fundamentally flawed. You can be extremely shitty and extremely efficient at two different sets of tasks.
