I wasn't ever close with my family, we never really talked. It felt like just people I had to life with, unwanted roommates I had to get along with.

I'd like for them to all get into a car, crash into a tree and all of the die. Its annoying having my mother insist I visit and talk to her, my dad trying to get me to visit as well. I just want to completely cut contact with them, but I still have a shred of remorse for my mother, I don't want to break her heart like that.

You're ignoring the lessons you must learn in life and yet you believe you're doing a great service to yourself. That's dumb.

you own your parents attention untill they're gone but you don't have to care about any other family members.

Why though? Its not like they ever gave me any attention. They just gave me a PC and internet, which then raised me. Dad left at 12 since he was tired of kids, mom went to bars, hung out with friends, went outside or watched TV. Only time we talked was when she needed help at the grocery store or during the morning when I was leaving for school.
