i was on /v/ when it all first started blowing up with the first game and /v/ made fun of it and called it a lame and gay jumpscare simulator for kids. only when zoomies took over the site did anyone start taking it seriously. it was always lame and gay.

Some of those were genuinely scary to me, especially the ones with just a little more effort than usual, like the haunted gameboy cartridge copypastas with screenshots or videos.
I miss how much soul the internet had back then.
