If you live in SF or a place like it, you'd hate the homeless because the ones you most commonly see are obnoxious amoral druggies. ~60% of the homeless are in shelters and shelters themselves often lead to you getting your shit stolen in your sleep, you're unsafe, or you just can't be there while you're an addict. Even in SF while seeing druggies have breakdowns on fent or meth, there were others just sitting/sleeping on the sidewalk who were just addicts.
Most obese people can't even quit eating without drug-use, but you expect someone homeless to quit the most addictive substances known the man by themselves.

No, because they didn't exist. Everyone was guaranteed housing in the USSR. Some people were too insane or shitty to have a residence and they were put in asylums or forced to work (then given an apartment). They didn't tolerate miserable wretches wandering the streets in agony, because if you have half the empathy that a duck does you'd want to help a fellow citizen.

I live in a country that has good social safety nets. There are tons of homeless shelters, they're never at full capacity yet homeless roam the streets, there are two types, those who are homeless by choice and addicts that would rather freeze to death during winter then go to a shelter where they can't take drugs and alcohol inside.

I now know that you've never been around homeless people which makes your opinion irrelevant.
There are few things as bad as the sour stench of a homeless person on your subway car, or when they're visibly dirty and try to touch you as they beg for money so they can buy more drugs or booze, or when they defecate near you.
Homeless people are vile.

They watch one video about a homeless guy who gets a haircut and a fresh suit and turns their life around and assumes they're just misunderstood people down on their luck, the reality is that most homeless people are there by choice, they're nasty, dirty, mentally ill, addicts, etc.

Hostile architecture is one of the weirdest ideas leftists ever came up with. For some reason they INSIST on having a billion junkies in every train station, park, and public space. Who the fuck told them this was a good thing worth fighting for? When I was homeless I just stayed out in the suburbs. The people who stay in the city aren't poor innocent folk.

Addiction isn't real. I've used lots of so called addictive substances. This is nothing special about me. This is nothing special about the addictive substances I used either. The simple truth is that addiction just doesn't exist. It's a lame scapegoat retards and bad people use as an excuse to justify things they like, such as crime and disease. Fat people are exactly the same. Food is not addictive any more than methamphetamine, beanie babies, or plastic chairs. Fat people are fat because they know it is ugly and disgusting, and they think they are spiting God by engaging in gluttony. That's the beginning and end of their reasoning. But they hate consequences of their actions, so they blame everyone else for thinking ugly is ugly, and they blame God for being good and all powerful.

If by a few paychecks you mean a triple digit amount of paychecks, maybe. Natural disaster is bullshit. Many people have survived hurricanes, housefires, earthquakes, and tornados. You don't just sit there and say 'well golly, time to go rob people and smell bad and be a public nuisance'. You pick up the chainsaw, straps, hammer, prybar, whatever and fix the problem.
Homelessness is 100% a choice. You can get a job long before the emergency fund, savings, and retirement funds are exhausted. You can demolish or repair or rebuild any structure in just a couple of weeks.
So why? Why do you feel compelled to spread such batshit crazy and obviously false lies?

Not addiction. That's alcohol dependence. Stopping cold turkey after physical dependence is retarded. Anyone stupid enough to die from that deserves it. That would be like deciding to cure diabetes by injecting 100u of insulin. It does not work that way. If you don't like the clumsy diabetes comparison then there's the bends. You want to cold turkey that and cry that you're a victim of pressure addiction?
Alcohol dependence is well understood and easily treated, like diabetes.

Well, it's true. People don't actually care about the homeless, as seen by their interactions with them (or lack of interaction). Although I agree that hostile architecture is just making people's lives worse on purpose for no good reason, people whinge about it not out of care but because they get satisfaction from exerting themselves (both publicly/socially and privately/emotionally) in their pet issues, since they've been deprived of any real meaningful activity to change their lives or the world engage in.

Another brilliant right wing analysis of a societal ill.

What the woke leftist communist mob on twitter just doesn't understand is that we need to just let people be homeless. But it's not enough that we let people be homeless we must also mock anyone who dares suggest dealing with the problem of homelessness because that's COMMUNISM!!! No, it's the truth, you can go from homeless to have a cheap, shitty apartment very easily if you're not a literal subhuman. I volunteer at a homeless shelter in Ohio and we barely fill any beds and most of our donations get divided between other shelters because we literally cannot give it away fast enough despite the fact that these fuckers are walking around EVERYWHERE begging for money. If you are not violent, a drunk, a junkie, or literally retarded then you can easily get out of homelessness my using shelters for food, a place to sleep, hygiene products, etc.

making things illegal like that doesn't help. We learned this with the useless war on drugs. Them being illegal means that the distribution of the drug just gets more shady and makes people do it in secret. The ideal way to treat addiction isn't to go cold turkey. That rarely ever works.

Those places don't ever get visited by anyone except me and the people hiding there, so they're probably actually safer than a shelter. I feel bad for the homeless and have even known some nice ones, but a lot of them are druggies and schizos. I don't want them to suffer but I don't want to be near them either.

bumming around in netcafes really opened my eyes to how like 99% of the street homeless problem goes away just by having affordable shelter and incredibly punitive drug laws

Ask Mothers or Fathers of drug addicts if they think it should be legal
Drugs are bad for you

I've talked to two homeless people
One was an absolute prick, got up and threatened to punch me unprovoked. He wasn't schizophrenic.
Another was a pretty chill guy desu, but was clearly schizophrenic. He would start talking and his statements usually made no logical sense, although it was fun to listen. I tried to question what he said but it was pointless, also i just wanted to be polite.
