>>81711318I agree it doesn't, but I'm almost autistic and schizoid, so I am much better equipped than most people to deal with having no romantic relationships. I mean I've gone 30 years without even seriously considering approaching any of the women who've shown interest in me (I'm 6'2'') and I don't regret it. But for the average person, I imagine it's a lot harder to accept that it's never happening and social media has only made things worse by making these people feel left out and alien. I can see how some would feel that life isn't worth living without having something most people around them obtain pretty effortlessly.
Also at this age, I have plenty of ways to cope. I'm educated and working a pretty good job, I have a few friends, I can afford the high end gaming hardware I could only dream of in my childhood. But at 17, a lot of people probably don't have many ways to cope and they're forced to go to school, potentially be bullied and see their peers in relationships.
