ok, my tangent aside, if you can agree that if terrifs are bad. You must equally take up the position that taxxing the producers of the society also leads to prices going up. Because if a country is taxed 10% they will just increase their prices 10%. The same would also happen to a business owner
If you gave everyone in the society an equal amount of money you would soon see that a few people at the top would gain more and more capital. These are the producers that provides goods and services to the community. We would be nowhere without them. They also have all the power in how to price their goods. It is not beneficial to price them exorbitantly high so they do not do that. But when you tax them and their income and their business then they get forced by the hand of the government arbitrarily to raise their prices. You are essentially just paying the government indirectly

Tariffs? Taxing the rich? I know nothing about this. I'm not an importer nor rich. Taxing the poor, now that is a problem. I make $60k/yr and over half of it is taxed. Social security, medicare, medicaid, that's 30% alone between me and my employer. Then there's income tax, sales tax, gas tax, capital gains tax... Irs wants to fuck my butt if I make $601 from picking up garbage furniture, cleaning, and then selling it. I can't even squeak out a fart without twenty different bureaucrats holding their hand out looking for another payday. Somehow I have to buy a $100 glittery sticker every year and put it on my license plate or the cops will pull me over, potentially kill me, and then write a $200 ticket.
Taxes should be optional. At least for me. Let people who vote to increase taxes bear 100% of the tax burden. It's unfair to tax people against their will. More than that, it is theft plain and simple.
