How to get into video games for an absolute beginner? Where do you find games to play? Like do you use the app store/windows store or do you download games from your browser? I want to try gaming but I have no experience.

it varies on the lap top you are using

if you know about pcs you can check your GPU n CPU

for modern gaming 1080p

you would need at least a ryzen 5 n a rtx 3060 min to game comfortably

anything below those n you gonna struggle

Having trouble choosing which games to play? Let your choices be curated by the whims of fate.

There's a website that does weekly charity fundraising drives. You can donate money to charity and receive video games as a thank you gift. I check it out every week and see if anything looks interesting to me.

For the next 3 days you can get a trilogy of games called BioShock by paying $10.

The games are usually played through Steam, but occasionally they'll be sold for an alternate store like Epic or Gog. They will let you know if they're doing this.

And always be sure to manually adjust your donation to a customized level that feels right to you.

Every game on Steam will come with a Minimum hardware requirements and a Recommended hardware requirements. Older games and 2D games will be less demanding. Turn-based games will be more forgiving of hardware issues than real-time games, the former doesn't care if your computer has slowdowns or stutters, and the latter will have you die in the game if your computer freezes at the wrong moment.

The post above yours shows how to pay 0 (zero dollars and zero cents) to the game publishers.

you can also go to canirunit.com and look up a game. it will download a file that scans your pc specs and tell you if you meet the minimum requirements. it's more convenient than having to go to google or dxdiag.exe and cross reference specs and such

RPGs like Final Fantasy and Pokemon run great on a phone. They don't care if your fingers are fumbling around on the screen and missing the controls.
