Like all forms of validation and social rituals, failing to achieve it will cause stunted mental development and reduced self-worth. Getting laid at 14 made me go "hey, maybe girls can actually like me!" and helped me with my confidence later in life.

Failed normie meme, they see something everyone else around them was getting and they couldn't get it, so they give it this divine status. Kind of like still thinking of your HS crush 10 years later.

people who have no vision for their future fixate on their past. teen love regrets is something they fixate on because they wish they could fuck young girls.

Basically it was a time where people dated someone just for them without caring about money and they didn't have a boatload of past exes and/or sexual partners.

Most people did shit as teens with their first partners that would be cringe if you did it as an adult. Basically it allowed you to "practice" so you didn't seem like an autistic loser when trying to date them IRL

Youth is the most healthy and energetic you'll ever be. You can enjoy life to the fullest and that includes love but also other pursuits. I would change "teen love" to "teen and early 20s love" to better encapsulate the full breadth of youth which is what is glorified in the phrase "teen love"
