This is the reason I don't play Minecraft and Terraria often. I can picture cool builds in my head but I can't make it real so I always end up living in some sort of box house.

Your house looks fine. But the point of minecraft is its simplicity anyway. The house is functional and lets you keep playing the fun parts of the game. If your house is making you unhappy and rebuilding it makes you unhappy, do something else. Either in game or another game.

I'm shit at building and playing the game. I've never killed the dragon, or even attempted it. I just find a decent spot on the overground, and build a little crappy house, run around a bit, then leave the game for a bit, go back and start again.

Just saw this online, looks good, never thought to add something like that to brighten up the house.

as with most games the only reason left to spend cash on them is online accessibility and modding. 4chinz servers are dime a dozen and can be fun so the online play isn't exactly irrelevant here desu.
The curse forge client makes minecraft modding both functional and very plug and play.

OP if you hate your house then just go copy some cool looking house tutorial online. Copy it exactly so it looks jsut as cool as what the other person created. Then you will feel much better about yourself!

It's a creative game you're not going for a fucking Pulitzer prize or whatever the equivalent is for arranging premade blocks in a premade game. If it looks like you built it yourself then you won.

if you can "picture" cool builds then you need to start zooming in on the picture it shouldn't just be a flat picture or a vague idea. start with the vague idea in your head and then flesh it out. it's hard to start noticing little details but it's not impossible. if you really care just look up youtube vids of people giving tips. you just copy what other people do till you mash them all together in a style that's your own.

Post boypussy. A way that I got better at building was focusing on the gestalt of the build, rather than the blocks themselves. It's kinda like how impressionism doesn't focus on the details of a painting, but the overall vibe of it. You're not building, you're sculpting.
