It's been quite the struggle. I had a really difficult time talking to my classmates and I ended the term without anyone I'd call a close friend. In the process, though, I learned that I have a subconscious desire to become friends with everybody - maybe I don't want to be hated or alienated. But I found out I can't be friends with everyone. That realization has made me more relaxed, and I now find it a bit easier to make friends with people. I'm not as invested anymore; if I don't get along with someone, I'm more willing to let things be.
