I'm 28 years old and I've only been employed for like 6 months in my life

I just sit here at my stupid fucking laptop in my mom's apartment every day

I am thinking of driving to NYC to start a new life in the big city. can anyone tell me if that's a good idea or not??

NYC is expensive. make sure you can find somewhere cheap as dirt before you move, and if you can't go somewhere else.
you should leave, though. can't be a downgrade

Good idea like 70s-2000s. Not now. Job market is ass, starting wages don't get you a place to live anywhere. Not worth it.

is it a good idea for a couple who are in a bad place to have a child to set themselves straight?

moving wont fundamentally change who you are, and you have no money or career prospects to start like you want to, you can absolutely make a change, but what youre thinking about is a dangerous fantasy. make small changes every day, then it will become a reality one day.

being lazy and depressed while doing nothing about it wont change anything. you need to put in effort over time

Not give up, and not ask incel boards for advice.

The small changes you need to make will depend on your circumstances and, most importantly, the depend on you taking the initiative. I know a generation raised on anime finds this hard to believe, but opportunities don't just fall on your lap, you need to put in effort and go looking for them.

If you give up, you'll have nothing, and you'll go nowhere. You don't even need to rush, take your time, keep learning and looking after your body and mind instead of just indulging in slop and self-pity.

It's on you. You have to put in the work.

But you can do it. I believe in you, even if the world is a total cunt.

Not a bad plan tbdesu, working sucks and generally isn't worth it

If you're set on becoming independent, then you need to get a job first, then move.
Common misconception I see is that you move then find a job, it's [current year], every job application is online, you can just apply to them even if you're out of state. You'll need proof of income from said job to be able to rent anywhere.

Kek nope. You have to lie about your previous experience to the edge of legality, as well as your skills. Bullshit, cheat, and do whatever it takes. Hard work was invented by kikes. Nobody made it to the top off of hard work alone. It's mostly luck, and cheating the system brings you more luck. Hard work gets you a gold star at the Walmart morning stand up.

He's wrong in several key ways. Firstly, he thought I was only talking about work, which I clearly am not. I also never said the capitalist work machine was fair or good, it is not. I also never said that people can get to the top by hard work alone, this very rarely happens. I also never suggested that getting to the top was the main goal everyone should have, it's not.

So he argued against points I didn't make because he can't read or think, while also throwing in words like kek and kikes.

No, I'm talking about business insurance. But you can do that too. Fuck em. The biggest thing you have to learn is to do whatever people tell you not to do/or is wrong to do. They're all wagecuck faggots and they're just mad because "it's not fair." There's nothing fair about America at all to get ahead. The average person will keep sneeding at people who do things differently because they were good goys who followed the system laid out for them school -> college -> middle class wagecuck -> mortgage and car loan and debt. Then they're fucked sitting there paying off all this debt and being good goys making 50k/year

It's fucked, we're fucked, but there's nothing you can do about it. You have to just try anyway and do something. Honestly trades are what people should do. They'll just use ai (all indians) to do white collar jobs. If you can get something like a concrete spray truck you can make good money on honest work.

Yeah, it's not fair. Being high IQ is just pure luck. Being born into a rich family is lucky. Being born with a nice body or face is luck. If you didn't get the lucky luxury and have to work your way from the bottom you have to bullshit.

Concrete pump trucks only cost like $80-150k and you charge for use of the truck itself. If you do this in a growing city with a lot of construction you can make like $400k/yr.

Walmart is always hiring stockers for the graveyard shift. You're paid better than a burger flipper or a pump jockey and you can get health insurance. Night shifts can suck and Walmart is gay but you'll make enough to move out of your mom's place. Treat the job as a stopgap until the real opportunity comes along.

If you want a job as a stocker do costco. There is upward mobility to forklift drivers or managers and both of those make 100k/yr there. They offer health insurance even if you're part time and it's good health insurance. Stockers max out at like 60k/yr. Meat cutters max out at like 80k. General managers make like 400k/yr

What OP would need to do is go to a temp agency and then start doing construction first, learn the basics, then get on with a concrete crew, then decide to start an LLC, use the 1040c to write off his expenses, get the truck on a business loan, and then drive the truck to contracts while continuing to write off all expenses on the 1040c. He could also consider a partner to go on on it too so that the truck is always being driven even on days he doesn't want to work as well as shared stake in the buisness. Thats a 1065 not a 1040c though.

Working at night isn't too bad, the store is closed from 11-6 so we don't have to deal with customers for most of our shift. "Walmart Radio" can be irritating but I usually pop in an earbud when certain managers aren't around. It probably helps that our store is pretty laid back; we don't have to do the stupid Walmart cheer or anything.

I worked at costco for like 3 years I just applied during the fall when they do seasonal hiring and I called them everyday for a week. Then I was a harder worker and smarter than everybody else so they kept me on. I really needed the job at that time.
