More than anything, I love the idea of having a husband and keeping a picture of him in my wallet. But it's only a fantasy, I'm pretty traumatized with men (not necessarily by personal experience but like my mom got stabbed in her only marriage). It seems pretty dire, divorces are frankly more common than they should be and the more you're with a person the harder the break-up will be. I also think that if you can fall out of love you were never in love in the first place, but I don't think that notion is common at all. People my age (men and women) are terrified by commitment and something being "forever", while I'm terrified of things not being forever

Yes, to someone who isn't fucking deranged, or unmotivated. Also realistic, in the sense that we both know our duties and obligations to one another, and aren't scared by them, or feel like we're missing out on something, so we actually uphold them, even if we don't always want to. It's the best, most functional relationship you'll ever have. The stability allows you to grow in so many other ways too.

You only get there once you realise how fucked every other way is though and what it leads to, because people can't help themselves, they want to fuck up and find out. So you can only really achieve this sort of relationship with some religious foundation unfortunately, most people are too stupid to realise it's the best way to be without the indoctrination.

I find myself in the somewhat unorthodox position of wanting my wife to be more of a slut (and naturally getting to fuck around a bit myself in the process) but she has eyes only for me and resists the idea mostly for, I think, fear that she would lose control of the situation and we'd become more distant. That is nothing if not loyalty! Despite my proclivities, I respect her for it and for all I know she's making the right call. Personally I suspect think many? most? women are like this, at least among the more intelligent ones that are choosier in the first place, but I don't have too much data to confirm.

I don't know how much luck you will have with finding a woman who is it for genuine love through dating apps. Through personal and some friends experiences, the best way to find love that's genuine is starting as friends. I'm in a relationship myself, and it's with a man I was friends with first.
We met on an mmorpg, friends for years, met up with each other, and then start dating soon after that. It's been a few years since then. It's not a convenient relationship as we still live across an ocean, nor does he have any power or status, nor does he have any money or future prospects of a lucrative career. I've been making more money than him, and will continue to do so until we're ready to start a family. So, this isn't a relationship I have any benefits from, I'm in it because I love him to death. And yes, we support, motivate, have good chemistry, share interests, etc. with each other; I wouldn't be in a relationship with him if it wasn't the case

So keep your hopes up, there are people out there who will love the same way you do. Humans tend to base their worldview on whatever bits of information they are consuming. So if you're scrolling this board or other sites, hearing of how awful women are and how love is dead, that's exactly what you will believe. And having this mindset will deprive you of countless opportunities in life. I won't lie to you, there is rejection and heartbreak, but that is with everything in life, there are ups and downs; the ups will always be worth the downs.
