California is a failed state.
It has two classes of people: slave laborers and billionaires. It is unlivable for anyone who belongs to neither of these classes.
The cost of living is way too fucking high. Owning a home in California is impossible unless you earn six figures. Meanwhile, wages are super low, because they keep importing Mexicans who do that labor for free.
Oh, speaking of Mexicans, crime in California is sky high. So is poverty, and so is human feces on the ground. And because it would be "racist" to address these problem, the average Californian (especially women) have to accept that they're liable to get attacked, robbed, raped, or killed at any time. Homeless people have built entire cities that the police refuse to do anything about.
Also, the immigrants just degenerate the culture in general. Can you imagine living in an American city where like half the people don't speak English well? The city is alien to its own inhabitants.
The traffic is insane, the climate is unbearable, and the social justice crap is embarrassing to live around.
I'd say I feel bad for Californians, but I don't, because they voted for this. And now they're coming into other western states, including MINE, and voting for the same shit. The entire state should be nuked to hell and back. Fuck California.

I feel like california is an above average state to live in. People seething about it is just a meme. Pretty much every downside of being in Cali comes from Cali being such a high tier state in several other metrics and having shit you cant get anywhere else in the country. So then too many people want to live there, causing various problems with the overpopulation. Even then, those problems are mostly isolated to a few meme cities.
