Cancer, heat, seriously weakened immune system, probably caught some shit too as he coughed like crazy. He refused to eat and drink, would say incoherent things and was basically a skeleton when I told him "good night" for the last time. I figured he wouldn't make it till Autumn but I didn't expect him to die the very next day.

I don't really know what to say
I never was really close to him, he was a grumpy, condescending, demeaning person at worst and I grew to be a pretty lonely guy so we never interacted much. Still, he was my father and never abused me in a harmful way.

You only got one mother and one father and when you realize you missed having a good relationship with one (or both) of them and it's too late, you can't just shrug it off and say "meh, we weren't that close anyway"
