Yes and no
People won't talk to you it's not like when youre a kid where you just make friends naturally
The thing about college is that you are always able to meet and befriend people
The choice is always present and its your fault for not taking it

It's gonna be the same in college, unless yours has very open clubs you'll have to get a friend group within the very first month or even week. All the cliques formed within that timespan are going to be the only ones you see

I also went to Community College, same major. The smaller class size lends itself to making friends far easier. The downside for me was that literally fucking nothing else happened outside of class, so I was stuck with what I had in my immediate surroundings (Though this may be different for you, try to go to events if your school has any, mine didn't).
Either way, the onus is on you to make something happen. I recommend sitting in the dead center of the classroom and forcing yourself to talk to people. If your situation is like mine, you cannot afford to let an opportunity to make a connection slip you by.
Every single class was like a grab bag of random people, so I didn't see any cliqueing going on. I guess you could say micro-cliques can develop within each class as the semester goes on if a group of people get along separate from the rest of the class. Just make sure you're apart of that group if it happens

same, hardly talked to any of my peers when there and after graduating and I have spoken to a single one of my classmates afterwards. 5 years later, I doubt I would even recognize any of my classmates if I saw them today.

Not college but this reminds me of highschool. I spent 4 years there and on the last day of school not a single person said goodbye to me. I was there 5 days a week for 4 whole years and walked out like it never happened, without a single friend.
