Everyone's gassed up on bullshit.
We experience near-constant exposure to ragebait and hate content online.
It carries into real life.
Everyone is together but isolated.
No real community.
Just a bunch of people loosely associated by their hobbies.
Ready to pick up and drop people on a dime.

Real people living in a fake world.
Of course everyone's going crazy.

Normies take everything as an offense. Especially women. Due to their easy lives.
Normies are fragile cry babies.

The 2000s were not kind. Please stop living in an alternate reality. Society decayed greatly during the 80s.

A strange thing is that in modern anime the characters still behave like real people did 20+ years ago before people's vibe was changed. I'm not sure zoomers realize that's how REAL PEOPLE used to act (like in anime, sort of, many aspects). for example watch Baywatch, it's night and day compared to now. I remember when Baywatch was real life.

Anime teens are articulate, friendly, mature, intelligent, and behaved. That's... not how people were 20 years ago. That's more like the 60s and 70s. Maybe the 80s to some extent. By the 90s and 2000s people were mean, trashy, and stupid.

It's a millennial who thinks baywatch was an accurate representation of the times. I dont blame him because he doesnt know any better but if you are older you should. The 80s and 90s were a crime riddled hellscape and trust in the fellow man got low.

I'm a 90s kid who lives in Tennessee and all of my Gen X older siblings' friends were mean and stupid white trash druggies. Maybe it's not a good representative sample, but it doesn't give a positive impression of Gen X. I think drugs fucked up society in the 80s/90s infinitely more than social media supposedly has in the 10s and 20s.

Reminds me of "No Country for Old Men"

The 1960s and 1970s were pretty fucking shit. You had hippies, the satanic panic, MDMA, mk ultra, Vietnam war, Kent state shooting, serial killers apparently fucking everywhere, people hitchhiking and getting murdered, the rise of the cartels, the kidnapping epidemic, etc.

I know we talk a lot of shit about boomers but I think we also have to understand the world that a lot of them grew up in. Yeah they had extensive material wealth, but the world around them was dangerous as fuck.

Yeah, but the topic wasn't whether the 60s or 70s were good, but whether people were nicer/more mature/more intelligent (since the claim was that anime characters act like people from the 90s and 2000s). Which... maybe they did? I'm not an expert but people do seem highly articulate in pre-80s interviews I've seen, even of teenagers and random hobos, whereas by my 90s childhood teenagers born in the late 70s were braindead white trash.

>BTK
>Manson Family
>John Wayne Gacy
>Zodiac Killer
>Richard Ramirez
>Hillside Strangler
>Son of Sam
>Jim Jones Cult (Mass Suicide)
>Branch Dividian Cult (Waco Siege)
>Jeffrey Dahmer

The list goes on and on

I don't know I didn't grow up in the 60s or 70s. I grew up in the 2000s. I think people were way happier and people were nicer pre-2008. The world was also a lot more wealthy back then too.

I remember at my elementary school they would have a massive carnival at the end of the school year and they would have a fucking ferris wheel, bouncy house, that caterpillar inflatable thing, snow cones, funnel cakes, a massive inflatable slide, one of those velcro walls, face painting, slip and slides, water balloons, etc. etc.

It was so much fun. The best time of my life. Being a kid from like 2004 -- 2008 was heaven on earth if you were old enough to remember it. But I also remember it all going to shit.

People today are just "Different". I don't know how to describe it. They are just selfish, rude, extremely judgmental, closed-off, and most of all, completely and utterly soulless. It is like nobody today has a personality, and if they do it, they are either a cry-baby, asshole, or autistic freak.

I think what I can attest to is the loss of "Color" from the world. People just aren't genuine anymore. They are all like robots.

This is a funny video, but look at how this guy acts. He's just genuine as fuck. He's a real human unlike people today who are NPCs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz9Zy2-C_lY

I think something that never gets talked about is the loss of "Humanity". It just seems like over time we are become less and less animal and more and more soulless machine.

I can agree on "happier."
As for nicer...
lol.
lmao.
rofl even.
90s and 2000s people were the opposite of nice. They were a happy bunch of normies but they were mean as hell. I was born in 1987 and people being a mean bunch of snakes was obvious by 1996 or so.

Because the country has gotten more and more brown since then. We've known for decades that the more "multicultural" a country is, the less trusting, caring and normal it will be.

See the book "Bowling Alone" by Harvard professor Robert Putnam, published in like early 2000. He specifically laid out all this data.

Kindness to anyone outside your tribe/community was a shortlived moment, people had to live in a more violent world before and being too kind would get you killed.

They are catching serial killers from back in the day purely by dna

As the country got flooded with brownoids, the millenials responded by not being as kind because their tribe was under attack?

It does tie in with the "empathy has been on the decline and narcissistic traits have been on the rise for decades" thing they mention.
Slapstick was a big thing because people thought violence could be funny.
People appeared more civil because if they werent they could get killed. It then gave rise to empathy, people got complacent, things reverse.
Aside from people being more "kind" men didnt talk as much, even women didnt.
