Thus they can be genuinely humble about scoring a woman above their station. Women will never admit they are lucky to have a man to their female friends because this shows weakness and they will probably try to seduce him away from her.

Men are more concerned with hierarchy among male peers, but they don't really use the desirability of their mates as part of the ranking calculus. Male status has more to do with wealth, power, and achievement, and having these acknowledged by peers is what gives a man his place in the social hierarchy. It's very cut and dry. You're either wealthy or you're not, you either have power to make others submit to you, or you don't, and you either did a thing or you did not.
Female power games are much more ambiguous because they're not as concerned with hierarchy.
