mfw arguably peaked in that era
I was depressed, but I was vital, alive in a way that I'm not really now

For me, it was 2002-03. Life has been shit and is getting worse ever since.

I think that the rot was really setting in by the early 2000s but I was still too young then to notice it.

this makes sense. started subtly setting in around late 2001. was held there until about 2008 then ramped up rapidly with no end in sight.

Yeah, this pretty much mirrors my experience. I guess 9/11 really did change everything huh. Pre-2014 still had some good aspects but since then its just been complete clown world nightmare.

same 2007 went way to quick for me and was refreshing after 2006 being one of the longest weirdest years of my life, 2008 was the year i finished school so that was nice despite a few shit moment s that year that are burned into my memory and 2009 was another mixed year but i generally felt free and happier than i do now with my aging malfunctioning body, my lack of life success and depression

I feel like I'm the only one who noticed that after 2007 everything started slowly going downhill. The quality of every product started going down, people started to become rotten and everyone's dearest memories started to fade. I feel like 2007 was the happiest year on Earth. Things were still kinda good afterwards, but it was slowly decaying over time until where we are now. Am I wrong about this, lads? Did no one else notice this phenomenon? Or am I just a schizo?

you're just a schizo
i'm old enough to feel the ramifications of the 1998 financial crisis - shit's always been bad, folks just remember the good parts because who in their right mind would wanna remember the bad parts of life?
