How is your relationship with money like? Is everyone here poor? Seems like no one would come here if they could be skiing in Switzerland or sailing in the Mediterranean or something like that

Oldfag here. I have a six figures job. I can afford nice things in life, such as fancy vacations and sugar babies.
Anonymous No.81848392 [Report] >>81848483
yeah i'm poor, I get 1000 a month.
I spend maybe 300 on food, 200 on my student loan, then the rest i just play around with or keep for the next month to spend on something bigger. i don't have to pay rent thank god.

Struggle Street levels poor. I live in the sewers
Anonymous No.81848425 [Report]
Romanian anon here, in terms of salary I'm globally quite poor(1500$ net income per month). But my rent is also cheap af(~130$), so I'm saving 1000$ per month.

Going to South Korea this whole August.

I am not brown. are you asking me that because you think 60k is a lot or not that much?
>>81848384
Awesome. Good for you. 6 figures is impressive, even if it's just 100 000. but other factors matter too

i buy a lot of takeout because i don't like cooking. i'd just spend the money anyway so it doesn't really matter

Cooking can be fun though, I use to burn through my money on takeout until I cut down

I'm only capable of getting hired for low-pay entry-level jobs like my current one. I live with my upper middle class family who pays for most of my expenses.

just because something is fun it doesn't mean everyone enjoys it. i used to work in as a pantry cook so the last thing i want to do is fuck with food. also, groceries are expensive as shit, where have you been?

neet royalty
earn 0 dollars, spend 0 dollars, aging parents basement
live off their eggs, broccoli, and hard cheese

have been stuck outside social mobility with 0 capital for so long that it is now impossible to escape without being gifted a lucrative job someone else would do

I've also developed such profound bitterness for all the years I was turned down an entry-level escape that I'd rather die homeless than have to try to impress an employer.

>How is your relationship with money like?
like most highly intelligent males, it is great.
>Is everyone here poor?
define poor. not having an extra grand? not being able to save every month? no investments? being broke and in debt?
>Seems like no one would come here if they could be skiing in Switzerland or sailing in the Mediterranean or something like that
you're mistaken. I'm not on the owning yachts in the mediterranean level, can't lie, but I find my existence pretty comfy. Money is not the focus of my life and has never been, that's why. I never took risks just for the sake of making more money, opting instead for a safer, but steady options. Overall my existence is pleasant, I think, and I'm satisfied with it, because I don't focus much on real world. Between working, sleeping, eating, video games, and doing small tasks, that everybody has now and again, I don't really have any time nor energy or desire left to spend/waste money.
And if I were living off passive income alone, I'd still be playing video games all day, so there is really no major difference.

poor means barely meeting the basic requirements for food and shelter but I think it can be extended to any type of existence where you have to grind daily to keep a decent standard of living. it's not just how much you have but how much time you have to give for it. there are obviously many other factors to take in to account that don't include personal preferences or ambitions. living well/comfy is not the same as being wealthy
>And if I were living off passive income alone, I'd still be playing video games all day
what compels the younger generations to be like this
>>81849675
how do you spend your free time?

>living well/comfy is not the same as being wealthy
it is. because
>barely meeting the basic requirements for food and shelter
and
>where you have to grind daily to keep a decent standard of living
directly depends on the food, shelter, and your own standard of living. One could live in a small house in a cheaper state/country/area and grow some vegetables in their own garden and shop for healthy cheap stuff as food: fruits, vegetables, oat, good meat, etc.
Or you could live in the worst shitholes in the world like bay area or nyc in too large of a house, costing you (tens) millions over years, eating caviar and rare jumbo lobsters all day every day or some such.
Being financially secure and wealthy is not just the matter of a number attached to a name. It is the inner, the individual in the first world. The less you need, the more you have, the wealthier you are.
>what compels the younger generations to be like this
I'm 38.

>How is your relationship with money like?
Love and hate, friend
we're in a toxic relationship

I hate how life is all about money now, how dependent we are towards it, how little or how much is irrelevant - money controls and consumes us the poor and the rich

Has always been the case too - one of the first jobs in recorded history were accountants; they recorded the surplus grains, the trades, the profits
We just can't get enough of it

yeah this is some half baked pseudo buddhist nonsense. material wealth is real and it matters, especially if you have a family.

I'm quite rich and rapidly getting richer, but it's mainly because:
>No gf and not even trying
>No kids, ever, I hate them
>No mortgage or rent, because I live in my childhood room
>No car, because I hate driving and don't even need a car in my Euro city.
>College was cheap in my country so no debt from that either.
My wage isn't much because even tho I work STEM, it's in a 2nd world country. But because I've actively avoided the things most normies ruin themselves with, I end up saving 70-80% of each of my paychecks and putting them in safe investments and bank deposits. I'm on track to retire early especially since I'll inherit everything my parents have, as I'm an only child. I'll never have to buy a home as I was born in a pretty big city with plenty of employment opportunities and I'll inherit that place. I'll never have to buy a car because I can get by without one just fine. I'll never have to pay for childcare and I'll never have marriage expenses (women are expensive and usually shit with money). And I don't have particularly expensive hobbies so there's nothing to drain my finances. I also have no interest in gambling and stupid volatile investments like crypto.
