It's crazy how many folks are just the NPC niggercattle of their time. You could switch out a 1950s white supremacist with a modern 2020s social justice activist as babies and they would both grow up swapping personalities to match their new respective environment. I don't think the same would be as true for someone like Ted Kaczynski who has the genetic profile of a rogue agent. Alas, the point is that these white people don't really believe in what they're fighting for.

I would hope you aren't like that, my fellow robots. I hope that you truly believe in whatever it is that you uphold and aren't a culture-contemporary mirror like most people are.

I think you give Ted too much credit.

In any generation since Rosseau's time there have been flakes who would embrace pastoralism and argue that the "simple shepherd" lived a more rewarding life than mean old city dwellers. Ted drew the lottery ticket to be one of those guys for his generation, and then by complete happenstance ALSO turned out to be able to make bombs.

You add a few IQ points and some engineering knowledge to every audience member at a Phish concert and you'd end up with 10 Unabombers. It's still just math.

There are personality traits interplaying with the raw IQ/intelligence though. Some of those people would become Jordan Petersons or Christopher Hitchens or Neil DeGrasse Tysons or Michio Kaku's.
