Have the Russians ever started mass conscription yet? Ukraine has already burned through all the men over the age of like 25.

The USSR spent 9 years in Afghanistan before quitting, and that's while occupying major population centers.

Ukraine is fighting for its survival, pootin is an ex-KGB loser who wants to bring the USSR back and destroying his shithole in the process. He's gonna lose for good eventually.

Yeah, it's been quite embarrassing that Ukraine hasn't been able to reclaim its territory after years and years of build-up and western backing.

>>81856856
These men aren't being sent to Ukraine. Russia has been expanding it's army to flex in NATO's face; however, this isn't to do with Ukraine. NATO has been doing similar things to (America modernizing the draft/training press gangs; denmark expanding its draft etc).

You're delusional. Why didn't Putin take all of georgia in 2008? This talk is just to pull on your cold war nostalgia strings. The days of the Soviet Union are over, and they aren't coming back. Western media corps like to invoke that fear in the hearts of boomers to get them all giddy for ww3.

Russia is spending all it's resources on holding like 10% of Ukrainian land. Not very impressive.

Retard. What do you think an army is actually spend on????
They even started recruiting prisoners for wagner when that was still a thing.

Not even close, even just for Russia, the 1905 war against japan makes Putin look like Hannibal in comparison to sheer incompetence of the Tsarist High command during that war. It's also worth noting that despite all the russian fuck ups (notably the failure to take Kiev at the start of the war and the 2022 counteroffewive) they are slowly grinding the Ukrainians back in Donetsk, with the Ukrainians unable to really break through or push back the Russian lines despite all the western weapons.

>we're gonna attack your holding but not blow it up because we just want to fight really, you will put up a good fight
>we're gonna level you outpost and leave no survivors becasue you can't stop us
do you have a preference?

>Russia is spending all it's resources on holding like 10% of Ukrainian land.

Russia is spending 7% of its gdp every year on this war while Ukraine spends 36% + western aid. Also, Russia isn't interested in holding all of Ukraine. They've made it very clear they're only interested in Donestk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson. You're in a bubble where you think that Ukraine is fighting for its very soul. Nah, Ukrainians are dying to keep a bunch of disgruntled russians locked in their country (almost 20% of the population btw).

>Retard. What do you think an army is actually spend on????

All kinds of things. The Ukraine war isn't one of them.

>They even started recruiting prisoners for wagner when that was still a thing.

What is this supposed to mean, I have no idea. If you're trying to say they're running out of troops and resorting to prisoners, then you're retarded. When you draft people, you snatch the ones nobody cares about like convicts. If you draft average joes walking down the street like Ukraine, you get riots, murder, and an unhappy public. That's why you start with the dregs and minorities before you touch your core population.

You're forgetting that russia is being aided by Iran, China, and north korea too and probably some other small countries.
They literally want the democratically elected government toppled. They went straight for Kyiv at the start of the war.
>All kinds of things.
Such as?
This is a war they can't afford to lose too.
> If you're trying to say they're running out of troops and resorting to prisoners, then you're retarded. When you draft people, you snatch the ones nobody cares about like convicts.
Convicts are not a good option you idiot.
Just draft the already dissilussioned criminals that probably have a grudge against the authorities as if that's a loyal demographic.

Russia is slowly winning tho. I'm pro ukraine but its clear they are fucked in the long term. Modern war is a numbers game. Russia slowly captures more villages day after day and Ukraine barely recovers anything.

Eventually Ukraine will be exhausted militarily and Russia will make a breakthrough, maybe in a year or so. They will then do a massive mobilization and send maybe 500,000-1,000,000 troops in to finish the job, and Kyiv will be taken.

Its a sad truth, but i can't see Ukraine surviving unless they are given Israeli weapons with the cutting edge alien technology.

it's just trench warfare anon
"we make big gains but it bogs down into a stalemate" describes a lot of wars in history, not just this one. And Russia has a lot of what it wanted out of the war desu, it got the land connection to Crimea.
If winning by less than you expected is historically bad, what about actually losing?

just yesterday putin gave a speech
>they want to import 1 million indians
he said that women should make more kids
>puts ~200k russians to the ground in some foreign land

in 2000 he said that "the situation is bad and our grandkids will speak korean, japanese and chinese" he was right after all
