Being a specific type is inherently about using specific functions above others. With the ability to use these functions to their full extent, inherently comes the inability to use others properly. The whole construct of specific types is about this, of prioritizing specific functions over others. This dynamic of valuing one sort of cognition above the other is exactly what MBTI is about.
You can look at an INFJ, for example, where the Ni-Fe functions, Intuition introvertedly and Feeling extrovertedly, are prioritized and valued, leading to Te and Se being extremely weak, where Se is weak but valued, while Te is weak and not-valued. This system leads to Hitlerian functioning, where the individual builds Ni-based systems with a Fe-basis, with no basis on things outside of themselves, (Se and Te), leading to ridiculous, unprovable, illogical and irrational systems.

It's hard to explain but basically each side is like trying to intuit what the other is saying but not quite getting exactly what the other meant. It's not that ""have"" to use specific functions in order to communicate, it's that the extroverted and introverted attitudes, on a fundamental level, are somewhat incompatible in how they view things. They do not see things the same way, which causes them to misunderstand each other.

Metaphorically speaking, they might both be looking in the same direction, at the same object, but fundamentally, they're focused on different aspects. So they will not be able to understand how, or why they each see something different.
They might be looking at a building in the distance through binoculars, one looking in the windows at the top seeing a party, the other looking at the ground floor seeing an armed robbery going on.
One says "Wow that building looks fun to be at"
The other says "Wtf are you crazy? That building is terrifying"

Again, this is the root cause of their misunderstandings. Their attitudes are misaligned, and they cannot understand why they see different things.
