i feel like the internet isn't the same as it was before the COVID lockdown shenanigans

idk if it is just me, but i feel like every internet community has slowly become some sort of retarded post-ironic circlejerk or some shit. it just feels so boring. i miss how things were prior to 2020

am i the only one feeling this?

No, but most of us gave up.
The internet isn't fixable, we will never go back.
Best you can do is leave it and do stuff irl.
Go for a hike or whatever, and if youre lucky, you might meet great people.

Good luck.

The Internet has just generally been becoming more shit since its inception. 2019 was in fact better, but you're comparing normal shit to diarrhea. The Internet is too mainstream, monetized, and corporate. It was at its best when it was just nerdy white guys discussing and creating things solely out of passion

like it or not, covid made things considerably worse. doesnt mean they werent getting less enjoyable before, but its practically irredeemable now, you literally have organisations like protoweb making their own standalone internet to combat it.

I remember seeing posters like this in high school in the early-mid 10s. They put me off from trying anime out because of how geeky and weird it and the people in the club felt. I didn't get into anime until my senior year and I didn't dare let anyone know. I miss when liking anime got you made fun of

Same, but I don't miss being outside and be surrounded by normalfaggots that hate anime (in my country, it never got normalfag-friendly until 2020; now every normalfaggot goes to the movie theatre to watch Demon Slayer movies).

i miss that doebeit, the culture of anime fans was much different and more tight-knit back then and you didnt have morons arguing about things like fanservice being immoral or things like that. grim.

no matter how horrible the internet gets. There will always be small unknown places for like minded people to bond. IRL will always be as horrible as it was yesterday and the day before. KYS!

The anime fan community was way better when people were bullied for liking it - the social stigma served as a filter, which kept normiegroids out.
Now that normalfags got their grubby hands on anime, fandoms are filled with moralfaggot crusades over tropes fundamental to anime and bullying people who don't conform.
Desu this can be said for the internet in general
