Everything about it seems pretty miserable. Too many people around, usually very overstimulating. Like sure maybe you'll wind up with some neat memory every once in a while but I doubt the juice is worth the squeeze. Seems way better to just invite a handful or people to have a fire, play a game or watch some shows together.

Not sure. I used to end up at plenty of parties, but I used to just get really wasted and go outside to chain smoke cigarettes away from nearly everyone, or get high somewhere with a small group of people. Go off and have sex in the bathroom or in someone's bed, with people in the room sometimes. Shit like that. The only things to do are the things that are peripheral to being a presence at the party.

Getting dragged into party games sucks, but is ok enough if there's alcohol involved and you just get progressively more wasted as you go.
You just do that until you can escape for a cigarette or something then hide all night and that makes them bearable.
I like to find the most introverted person at the party and talk to them, they say the best things out of anyone usually, that can be an upside to parties if you have to be there. People who also hate it there.
