This goes beyond people fucking. Corporations have these rules in place for a variety of compliance and audit reasons. The company can lose insurance, fail audits, lose licenses or certifications to conduct vital business functions. Not to mention the absolute loss of credibility and confidence in the market.
Yes, to the uninitiated, rules like this seem overbearing and ridiculous. However, companies wouldn't waste their time and implementing these if they weren't necessary.
