He brought gunpowder to Europe and weakened rivals like the abbasid caliphate, kievan rus, and china so he's partly responsible for the rise of Western Europe in power, so I thank him.

Great man who rose to absolute power from basically nothing. Spent years as a slave, united all the steppe tribes, then created the largest land empire ever. Won battles with 90,000 men against 1.35 million with minimal losses.

For a various reasons, the Mongol emperor and nobles liked Korea and Koreans. The Mongols attacked and occupied almost all of East Asia, destroying it, but the Mongol emperor gave Korea the right to maintain its national title and autonomy, and gave his only blood relative, his daughter, a princess, to the Korean king as a wife. This was unprecedented in Mongol history. Because The Mongol emperor and nobles never gave their women to non-Mongols. This is a stark contrast to the Mongols who treated the Chinese as slaves of the lowest class. The king of Korea was the only non-Mongol who had the right to vote in the election to elect the Mongol emperor, though.

The name Chinggis is the correct pronunciation and spelling. What happened was that when the name Chinggis was first introduced to europe in the middle ages it was filtered through arabic, persian, and chinese sources, which did not preserve the Mongolian spelling and pronunciation correctly. These versions were later anglicized and we got the spelling Genghis which is incorrect.

Perhaps the only man, and the Mongols the only peoples, who had the potential to rise to the heights of the Indo-Europeans. Our only true rival - our survival a roll of the dice. I have great respect for the Mongols.

What were some of the reasons he liked the koreans but not the chinese?
And they had elections to be khans? I thought his sons inherted and split the empire.

>And they had elections to be khans?
The Mongol emperors were chosen by a khuraldai (noble council), made up of Mongol princes. There is no evidence Koreans had voting rights, there was no voting. Korea was a vassal state of the Mongols, basically a colony.

>The one you speak of as Genghis Khan, at present, is incarnate in a physical light body which has the work of disseminating material of thought control to those who are what you may call crusaders. He is, as you would term this entity, a shipping clerk.
