Went to school with her, would hang out in the library and chat about anime and vidya and drawing and shit. Stayed in contact and looked her up when I moved back to my hometown like 5-6 years after graduating.
The first year or three was nice but after I stopped smoking weed, decided I wanted to stop gaining weight, and decided I wanted to get a job and get my life together, I realized I'd shackled myself to a steel ball of a girl who had no ambition or desire to live her life. She wanted fast food for every meal, she would argue with all my attempts to get her to come for a walk or come to the gym (she was going from pudgy to just straight up fat, and I didn't find her attractive anymore), she would literally argue when I wanted her to just get out of bed and play vidya, or go on a date, or do literally anything together other than bedrot. I realized I wasn't in a relationship. Couples enjoy each other's company, they don't just deteriorate in each other's presence.
Like don't get me wrong I still see the appeal, and if she was willing to put in the bare minimum of effort to keep looking good for each other and enjoy life together I'd probable still be with her, but doomscrolling with someone in the next room also doomscrolling in her pajamas all day isn't the same as being in a relationship.

Some guys, but there's a line between chubby and obese. Part of that line is your behavior. If you're just lethargic and lazy all the time what was once a sorta hot weight will quickly become disgusting.
