The day my uncle tried to rape me I locked myself up in the bathroom and had the urge to hurt myself. Cutting is more freeing in my experience and also more "accessible" (even if I explain this you won't understand) in a sense plus it's like one of the most normalised ways of self harm in the mentally ill sphere.

They're after the sting that comes from cutting, I don't know about you but usually bruises just cause me a dull pain, sometimes they do cause a slight sting when you apply pressure to them but that int always the case, at least in my case.
I've never cut myself by the way, I'm just going by what the faggots that do say, but I have bruised myself quite a bit.

Bruises are very dull and not that efficient.
If you want a quick high, cutting and burning are the easiest ways to do it, plus blunt force trauma is harder to do in "secretive" areas and not easy to do in a controlled environment
