OP, get used to it. Trust me. I'm 34 and think about my high school girlfriend every single day. Every single day for the last 17 years I've thought about her. Crazy to think that I had her when I was 17 and continued thinking about her for 17 years afterwards, my entire lifetime at that point.

I realize now that I've never had an imaginary friend as a kid, but I definitely have one now as an adult. My HS GF is my imaginary friend.
