I've heard people call my name when I've been in bed. It's seriously scary, but apparently it's normal.

This started happening to me at the turn of the decade. I posted about it on lainchan back then, picrel. I only ever get this when I'm waking up or just about to go to sleep. It's apparently called "exploding head syndrome" but the cause isn't well understood at all.

dude the other night i was laying in bed and as i was about to fall asleep and closed my eyes i heard my mom call my name, so i woke up and there was an alien reaching towards me through a portal in my wall, then i got up all scared and there was nothing there, i was also home alone.
very spooky state of affairs.

I sometimes randomly heard my dads voice screaming at me when I was a kid at school or when I was about to sleep or whatever. It stopped years ago, but I think it happened back then cause he used to beat me pretty badly. Picunrel.

it's hypnagogia, it's been driving me nuts until i found out what it is, you can also vividly see, not just hear things.

I have schizoaffective and this shit happens to me periodically. I have replied to the voice only one time. Only happens upon waking or getting tired. Probably falls under the umbrella of a sleep disorder as opposed to psychosis but I am also clinically insane.

i think its just you sort of taking a bit to stop dreaming while you wake up so you end up seeing dream stuff while being fully concious of being awake which makes it scary
you should try activating your own powers when you wake up that helps me when im scared

It's common thing to experience. Everyone has at one time or another. You can safely ignore it.

oh you poor zoomzooms
hypnagogia is a thing
it blows my mind that I learned more about consciousness without drugs at 16 than most people seem to do in their lives
lucid dreaming is fascinating and you should read up on it

I hear voices all the time. It's fine. Listen to them. They tell you what do - do it. Mine are very fun and helpful.
