I should have listened to this one guy I used to know back in middle school. When I used to not talk to anyone because I was really nervous, people and girls made attempts to talk to me, some girls even were interested on me.
This boy my age once approached me and said,
>"Look, there's gonna come a time where you'll look back on this and wish you had talked to people and made friends. Our childhood is short, so try to enjoy it as best you can"
He seemed really mature in that moment, like the universe spoke through him.
I should have listened more to him because even when I got out of middle school and entered high school, shit didn't change much at all, I didn't change much at all.
Now I'm in my 20s and I don't have any friends and I'm rotting in loneliness, all because of my own choosing. This road of trying to be as unique as possible, it's brutal. The loneliness eventually gets to you, it's getting to me now. I can only relive my younger years through anime and dreams, of what could have been instead of what it ultimately was.

That was my childhood but nobody came and said that to me. Anyway I don't think its too late, also you were just shy, you probably still are, but you can break out of it a bit.
