my mom offered to get me a cat
she says having something to take care of will help with my depression
i dont consider myself very motherly
if i can barely manage to take care of myself how will i ever take care of something else?
but having a little creature would help me feel less lonely and i would finally have someone to talk to about my problems instead of just blogposting on here all the time

Lots of options for treatment if you go into psychotherapy, BPD might be arguably the most treatable Cluster B.

i dont wanna be rude but i have a massive distrust of doctors especially mental health doctors
when i first attempted suicide at 19 they threw me in the psych ward for a month and all my doctors made me feel like i was crazy
all they did was put me on different meds everyday until nothing working and they just had me sedated 24/7 and restrained to my bed
i dont feel safe around doctors and i wouldnt be open to trying psychotherapy

i dont work so i dont have insurance or anything and i know she wouldnt pay for therapy
im 22 so i know she COULD put me on her insurance until im 26 but she took me off after i turned 20 and refuses to put me back on
i could file for disability but the application process is so overwhelming and im too scared to go to like idk a state office to apply in person
i dont even have a car or drivers license so idk how i would even get there
im too scared to use public transportation

having a cat is fun, but if you are the kind of person that is easily annoyed, has a bad temper, or is aggressive in general, then you could potentially hit your cat or be abusive without noticing

All I can say is: poor cat. They get brought into families like this.

A lot of times they help removing your retarded inaction based on nothing because you learn to care about them. So instead of spamming here you would be taking care of the cat, and would be happier for it having something more meaningful to do.

I initially had the same doubts as you. Getting an animal is a big responsibility it is like a child. But the fact you care seems. It would help you. I know this might seem overwhelming but honestly caring for a little fella might also help to start caring for yourself.
