Anyone else get annoyed when people say you would be a good mother?

I dont hate or dislike children however there is a big difference between watching over a child versus having your own child.

Please understand that the world ironically works like this. The simple fact that you consider it a big enough deal to balk at it speaks volumes. Leadership is like that.
That doesn't mean it's necessarily ethical according to you own philosophical framework to have kids, or that you even want them. It does mean that you have a better disposition for it than most.

I dunno I am very excited to have kids and be able to raise them. Its nice hearing others tell me they think I will be a good mom. Makes me feel kinda confident that Ill be able to do it right. Hopefully that can happen sooner rather than later though but we shall see

people tell me this every now and then, but I'm probably the last person who'd willingly raise a kid for the same reasons. whats crazy is, despite talking about and sharing those same reasons with others, I'm in my very early 20's and still see some of my other colleagues around the same age already having kids and getting married without a second thought. I respect it to a degree, but it kind of feels surreal to think about doing those kinds of things so early with no doubts in mind, so surreal I couldnt properly picture being in their shoes

It's a difficult question. Creating and fostering you life is one of the best, most worthwhile and meaningful endevours you can take on in life. However, don't let anons gaslight you that you are doing fine enough for a child. You cannot just compare yourself to starving palestinians. You have to be able to provide for your child a good life in your current society. Most people cannot and they bring children into this world that then have to struggle and wander. I refuse to have children unless I will be able to provide for them a place to live, education, all the healthcare they may need (especially dental), some private tutoring lessons, have them see the world etc. It's not just about wealth though, as you need enough time to socialize them and teach them to be good people. My mom had to emigrate to earn a living, and being brought up without her, and with an absent, struggling father, has left a scar on my psyche. I refuse pass it on.
