If God is so good, why doesn't everyone love him? Why can't they see his goodness as self evident and love him for he is the truth? The answer is simple, because he is not actually good. At best he is indifferent, at worst he is actively malevolent and evil. I don't even believe he doesn't exist, before any smart ass ITT calls me an atheist. I know God exists.

>If the Earth is so round, why doesn't everyone believe it to be round?
I hate Christcucks but this argument is fucking retarded. People who believe in a benevolent God also believe in free will, meaning that they believe people can choose to deny the truth

Please convince me God exists. I can't accept it and I would really like to be able to. Even an evil god

Our ideas of good pretty much universally mean agreeing with us and us getting what we want. What you or I consider good doesn't matter or mean anything. God could scoop you up and put you in the raperoom without a ticket and it wouldnt mean he is good or evil.

>People who believe in a benevolent God also believe in free will
Yet they also like to claim he is omniscient, which cannot exist in the same universe as true free will because if he knows everything he knows every choice we will ever make, which means they are not true "choices" at all because he already knows the outcome. Christcucks are just incoherent

Mostly it's down to the longevity of all of the religious systems and the fact that there are so many different religions but lots of them tell an eerily similar story.

There's no god or devil only you.

>YHWH is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
So where the fuck is he then? Oh wait let me guess he only loves you if you love him first despite having no indication that he cares about you at all and even having evidence of the opposite.

I just observe that the religious story fills a human psychological need and so is self-sustaining and similar wherever it is found (to a point.)

But why are they all so similar? Why are the abrahamic religions retellings and inversions of stories from sumer and babylon?

misotheist

We already solved this 2000 years ago

Monotheists and christcucks still have Stockholm syndrome

if god doesn't care about us, then we have no reason to care about him, and we might as well act like he doesn't exist, since he acts like we don't exist.

as for him existing and being malevolent, his only malevolent act was him creating the universe as it is, since we see no supernatural evil in the world, only natural.

there are far more different stories. look at the most ancient myths, greek, mesopotamian, egyptian, asian, indian, mesoamerican, etc. there isn't always one god above all, sometimes it's rules that bind the cosmos, sometimes it's a pantheon and no ultimate one above them.

Thing is, he is able. Whoever/whatever created the universe can do anything. He doesn't do anything, which is why I think he's evil and gets off to the misery. It's like his food.

Objection, speculation

Because the abrahamic religions emerged from a culture where everyone knew Sumerian, Babylonian and Canaanite myth? Abraham himself is supposed to be from Ur! It's like asking why the Yazidi gods have the same names as the biblical angels. It's all a common culture with similar basal elements in that region. You won't find the same similarities between Judaism and Buddhism for example.

this entire thread is one big god of the gaps fallacy, whatever who cares it's fun to speculate (or a reason to worsen one's pessimistic view of the world)

Why else would he do it? He's omnipotent he could have created any world he wanted. All christcuck arguments boil down to appeal to authority.

I don't know and that doesn't prove anything.
