i've been working for 5 years and never done my taxes

If you're in the US they don't care as much because most/all of what you owe is subtracted for taxes by your employer before you see your paycheck. Sure, they want you to file, but you're not robbing them of any money. In fact, you're most likely robbing yourself of a refund.

yeah they only audit you when they know you owe them something. that's the fun part, they could actually just tell you how much you owe because they know to the fucking penny exactly how much you owe, but it works in their favor to make everyone go through that bullshit ritual

If you have no real assets and are just a wagie no one will give a fuck. You are essentially nothing in the eyes of the system until you posses capital.
