It is no different than how the number of people with college degrees goes up over time. As the economy gets more competitive, people have to improve in some way to compete or be left behind. People have done this with college degrees so, over time, jobs which did not require degrees now do. Similarly, women in the past who wouldn't or couldn't demand tall jacked dudes now do, so if you aren't tall or jacked, you can't compete.

Basically, removing regulations on a market either via free trade or by no longer shaming women for casual sex means more people lose out but the fewer winners tend to win big. It is all economics whether the commodity is labor, steel, or sex.
