Yes, dumbass. Angus Barbieri fasted for 382 days. Do you think calories just appear in your body magically? It's from the food. The only "diets" that actually work all involve being permanently in a huge calorie deficit.

It really is that easy, and quitting heroin is just as easy as putting the needle down. Only difference is you can't just quit food forever, you still need to eat to survive. OP, people will tell you and have probably told you your whole life that your weight is a moral faikg on your part or some lack of discipline, the truth is that society has failed massively and it is a systemic issue. I don't understand how people can look at something affecting 40% of a population and attribute it to a personal failure. It's not a lack of willpower, if any thin person were faced with the same level of insulin resistance they would likely overeat as well, as evidenced by how stupid fucking easy it is to lose weight on glp-1 agonists. once a fat person takes those meds, they are able to feel the same way the self-righteous thin people do and would honestly probably mog most thin people in a competition of fasting or something because most fat people have been working at their willpower harder than someone who's never been obese. it's just a problem thin people have never faced so they feel safe to throw stones. Anyway, I recommend seeing if you can't get insurance to cover one of these meds, especially if you have lost weight in the past and gained it back. Good luck

agree, the food/pharma industry (same thing) is very good at making calorie-dense garbage that doesn't induce satiety so that people overeat, and they're currently going full tilt trying to figure out how to fox glp-1 agonists. still, because of the potential side effects, known and unknown, I'd only use those as a last resort

op. listen carefully.

if you eat 3 meals a day. that are portioned out to be like 400 - 700 calories. and cut out the binge eating in-between. you will lose like 20 pounds in 3 months just from doing that.

having a diet is just an eating schedule. you need some money to do it but if you do you'll be fine.

You could also eat nothing but meat (no sugar no carbs) if you can afford it (no PUFA either) and have no willpower. You should kick into ketosis after like a month and you'll start to see results gradually.

well not entirely but mostly yeah just eat less exercise more
easiest way to lose weight is examine what you eat and try to replace or remove the most calorie dense stuff.
Like grains, try to replace some of grain intake with vegetables (NOT POTATOES) that can fill you without costing a lot of calories
If you drink soda you can make massive strides by replacing it with zero sugar or diet varieties alone. Granted the chems and other shit in zero/diet varieties are argueably as bad as the sugar, but if you can't live without soda I promise you the diabeetus and heart disease will get you well before the cancer does. (Assuming your genetics aren't 100% shit tier)

I once weighted around 270 lbs (but usually less around 230 to 250 lbs, that was the top), now down to 207 lbs, but still need to go down to something like 170 - 180. It's hard, because for that much weight it takes time to lose weight, and you feel hungry sometimes. My best advice is to really control what you buy, do not keep sweets and other carbs at home, try to eat meat and veggies, some fruits once in a while.

and as these other anons said, you need to either completely stop or almost completely stop consuming alcohol entirely.
Remember, people used to (and sometimes still do) run CARS on alcohol. Your body has to use/store all that energy, and I guarantee you are not consuming energy at the same rate as a carbureted engine.

That's what I did. Eat a bit less every day. At some point you find yourself eating 1,5 portions a day and then forgetting about food altogether until the next day.
If anything, I have to remember to drink water, because a big glass gets me really full so at first I found it annoying as fuck to keep drinking.
I don't count calories but I figure if I eat a balanced lunch and a couple of eggs at night I should be set.

really all you need to lose weight is to shift your mind and realise that you are in control of yourself. Realise that the more you eat the fatter you get and that you can just stop yourself from eating more than you need to, going on a diet is going to fix your problem until you stop trying to follow it and go back to your previous way of eating. Just need to somehow realise that you need to eat less always and it will snap into place for you. Goodluck.

you'll need to create habits that encourage you not to eat, such as you'll only eat it certain areas and at certain times. You'll need to recreate patterns of your life to undo the wiring of what your body is expecting. Also the more obvious you'll have to limit what you bring into your home.

I had to lose 40lbs over the course of three months once, so I feel decently qualified to weigh in.

Yes and no. Losing weight is indeed as simple as calories in vs. calories out. If you want long term, sustained weight loss (unlike what I did which is extremely unhealthy) then the best thing you can do is cut back on calories slightly (300ish to 500ish) and move around more.

The main reason a lot of people are fat and unhealthy is because of sedentary lifestyles. If you can get into a workout routine OR go on a 3 mile walk OR go on a one mile run OR get a job where you are more active and get to move around more then you will probably drop weight. Mixing more than one of those is great but not strictly necessary as long as your caloric intake is at or below maintenance.

The big benefit from "small step" caloric restriction and exercise is that it is habitual and therefore more likely to last for some time rather than being a quick and difficult fix that will push you right back into bad habits.

Anyways, good luck with losing weight, I hope all goes well and I wish you the best.

"just stop eating" is an oversimplification of weight loss. "eat less calories" would be more descriptive but still kind of vague. Eating nothing, altogether, won't nourish you, won't replenish you, that's dumb. You start by eating less and maybe working out. Eating less of the garbage, high calorie, low nutrition stuff you normally eat. Eat lesser portions, eat more healthier stuff like actual food, meats, grains, veggies, instead of greasy foods and snacks

You can lose a lot of weight by switching to a high protein, high fibre diet. It's way more satiating. Putting the food on a smaller plate and eating more slowly (try smaller cutlery) also helps. Use diet soda and other sugar free alternatives to stop sugar cravings and try and exercise more, especially lifting.
Lifestyle changes are way easier to commit to than to just "stop eating" which will make you feel like shit.

>just stop eating
No. In fact, that will trigger your body to slow down your metabolism. There's a reason why most of your fatties will gain weight back right after losing all that they did. The typical go-to is TDEE-500calories. Though it's not perfect since you have to experiment since TDEE isn't an exact science.

>210 lbs
Easily doable.

>hate my...
Good. Intrinsic motivation helps a lot.

Not mentioned and not really that great at burning fat is exercising. THough, you should do it for health, and it makes sure that you're not losing any muscle since losing weight can also mean your body going catabolic (i.e. burning muscle for the energy.)

no girl-chan, its not as easy as that.
Anyone who says it is, is one of those people like me, who were gifted with great genetics
As a teen i ate junk food like a retard, spent hours playing league, and my only excercise was running around with my dog or biking to my grandparents, which okay it was like an hour and a half to get there, but that doesnt compare to a full cardio routine. And i was skinny af

So here is the actual:
>Just stop eating?
Yes, part of it
You need to basically starve yourself, to create a calories deficit. So you shouldnt eat lees so you have lees calories, you should eat A LOT LEES so you have almost no calories, cuz then body should use the ones it has stored
>Excercise
You need to do at least something preferably daily. Long bike rides. Every 1 hour, do 20 squats and 20 sit ups. Try to at least 100 squats and 100 Situps per day, move up to 200 if you feel comfortable with this
>Watch what you eat?
YES
No junkfood, no alcohol, no cola or sparkling water soda. You drink plain water. You eat rice and chicken, because its the best meat for lean weight cutting. Some days, dont even eat the chicken, just plain rice. Yeah, sucks huh?

AND THEN after all this, there is the going to the gym and doing the right excercise. But this that i wrote here needs to be a daily routine you have and dont cheat on. Maybe one cheat day a week, but better none if you have the willpower. It sucks. Your days will be bleak. You will be sad and depressed and have crawings, and all you get is telling yourself to not listen to them. It will suck. Loosing weight is depressing as shit. But then imagine the hot girl that will emerge out of it. Do you want to be her? Suffering is how you become her... im sorry, it is bleak

There's a cheat code for this. Carnivore. It fixes your hunger signals so you can just eat when you're hungry and stop eating when you're not hungry, and you will lose weight. I did it for almost a year once, and it does everything they say it does. It's basically magic.

3 months ago I was 240lbs, I had never weighed that much before so I decided to start going to the gym again.
I started dieting too. No sugar, focused on protein, ate at a deficit, really tried to micromanage my nutrients for the first time in my life.
I go to the gym 3 times a week. I walk a mile on the treadmill every time to start. Then I move to weights. I've got to the point where I do specific muscles on each day.
Monday - Arms, Wednesday - Legs, Friday - Chest, Back, Shoulders.
Over the past few months I've got physically stronger. Its nice to move on to heavier weights.

Here is the problem, today I am 235lbs.
I lost 10 pounds my first week, probably water-weight.
Never got below 228lbs the whole few months. And now I'm only 5lbs down from my starting weight despite all my effort.

So what is the reason, how could it be? Is it muscle growth? I don't get how I haven't got back to 200 yet. It was easier when I would just starve myself.

Not eating as much certainly helps. A few years ago, I was pretty fat though I never actually weighed myself. For reference, I was a size 40 waste with pants with a size 30 length. I was lazy with a shit diet, eating slop and drinking two energy drinks a day if not more.

What helped me was starting to play drums again, which I couldn't do since I moved away from home and didn't have a place to set up. I finally got that, but it was in a room with no air conditioner which would be sweltering and I would usually play for a few hours to get my chops back. This also affected my eating schedule since by the time I would finish work, go play drums for a few hours and head home, it was too late to eat dinner so I'd just go to bed.

That was back in 2022 and I've kept up the same schedule so I've lost quite a bit of weight. I was probably well over 220 lbs and now I'm down to the mid-160s. I still have a somewhat skinny-fat physique (either loose skin or remnants of belly fat/man tits), which likely won't go away unless I start hitting the gym and focusing on those particular areas.

I guess the main thing that helped was not only physical aspect of playing drums, but also that I found something to occupy my time so that I'd pretty much stop eating out of boredom which was a big problem for me before. If you could find a similar activity/activities, that may make the prospect of eating less easier.

shit noone will recommend:
drink icecold water, lots of it, crushed ice, dropping your core temperature will make your body burn more calories to warm back up, also dress skimpy for that reason
take daily amount of magnesium citrate, itll give you the shits making your body unable to fully digest, this helps primarily with fat so still cut sugar and carbs, take multivits to prevent losing too much vit k etc

Could be. Newbies are especially growth-prone. That said, thr gym also stimulates appetite and you could be eating more than you think. Try cutting a little harder, make sure you don't do little snacks between meals and shit.

I used to be 500 pounds and I'd say it's a mix. I was definitely eating too much. But I was eating the wrong things as well. I'd say that's about 2/3's of the puzzle. The last one being that I was a complete sloth in my extreme morbid obesity. First step was just tracking calories, not restricting. Just to get a visual of how much I ate in a day. It was generally around 5000-7000 calories a day. Restriction to lose a pound a week at the time was like 4000 calories a day. I'd eat the same type of crap and lost a bit but when I started eating better foods... more meat instead of chips, pizza, and candy I started feeling really full after meals instead of just meh. After eating more meats I found that I didn't have to think about restricting calories since I'd be so full on 3000 calories a day.

The final bit was getting a smartwatch and having it track my steps. At my largest I might get 2000 steps a day at best. At worst around 1200. I read some things online that recommended 10000 every day for cardiovascular health and that realization that I've been doing less than a quarter of the recommended steps hit me pretty hard so I started forcing myself to get 10,000 every day.

Once I combined all that I lost like 300 pounds. Soon as I quit getting 10,000 steps every day the weight crept back on slowly over the years. Keeping that daily activity level going was essential.

I've been losing weight by cutting calories but it's slow. I've never been a big eater. Even as a teen I would often skip lunch and still I've never been skinny. I got a very feminine body too, with wide hips and thighs (I'm a guy). I lost some weight when I started to exercise but I didn't see much progress till I started counting calories. Even then I can go through the week restricting my meals and still weigh 1 kg more than I did the week before somehow, I don't really get it. My body just sucks.

Lifestyle change is the only way

Get past the first 1-2 weeks of calorie deficit and it'll feel normal and abnormal to overeat you'll see how you were getting drunk on food which encouraged you to be sedentary more to sleep it off then repeat. Lots of protein, water, good sleep on time, stay busy. Oatmeal and protein mix in water is your best snack.
