You have to remember also that messiah back then to a Jew in the first century did not mean the son of god or anything theological. Yep, people make the issue of crime and policing far more difficult than it needs to be. It's simple. We 'solved' it to all intents and purposes, we just have governments that choose to allow crime at the levels we experience it.

Mental health is certainly an issue, but not something insurmountable. If you can be helped you should be helped, but if you're just fucked up in the head and go around committing crimes then sorry but it's just the best thing to do to lock you up so you can't terrorise the rest of the population. Addiction I would argue is even less of an issue. You simply ACTUALLY fight drugs. Interestingly psychopaths are very disproportionately represented in high earning and highly skilled professions like surgeons and lawyers. Makes sense really, you have to be very focused, intelligent and in many cases ruthless to succeed in those environments. As long as they're not committing crimes this is generally beneficial because you want high achievers in those jobs and they're being self-selected for. Only when you get low IQ low impulse control psychos like Sean and your average 'roadman' do you get problems.

Another day of abuse at my job. I'd love to just take any bin but I've been spotted too many times now not checking them, so I have to be a good worker for a bit and make sure no contaminations go on. So sticker a recycling bin for having all sorts in it, food, metal, rubble. Just not even trying.
