It's hard for me to determine. I do hold a core belief about ego and mental illness having an egoic effect. I hate myself and it results in refusing to commit suicide. I am in pain every day as well. Wanting it to stop is normal. Taking actions to stop it is something else which is not altruistic.

I love Japan, but I absolutely hate the way the way they deal with mental health issues. You're basically programmed from youth that you shouldn't complain and overextend yourself even if things are rough. I hate how people from there are so guarded even online. I got a niche IG related to a Japanese traditional thingy with a lot of followers and 99.9% of my followers are Japanese. Nobody ever DMs, or comments or anything. Even amongst themselves, people usually just silently like and move on. No fucking concept of verbal self expression. Their mentality actually rubbed off on me so much that I wouldn't post anything negative (I actually don't post at all anymore), but yeah it's one those things I hate about their culture.
