Probably the most stunning societal change is just 2 or 3 generations ago being a 8/10 meant a woman was substantially above average. Now all it means is she's not spherical.
There's a bizarre compression where all of human beauty has to be compressed in the range of 8/10 to 10/10 because 7/10 and below is too fat. In the old days we had 2/10's that were thin and you could have a discussion about the relative merits of a 3/10 vs a 4/10, but now everything with a hole that's not spherical is a 8/10 or above.
Men also have this problem: its also wild when you go to a clothes store and all they have on the shelves is sizes XS, S, M because 70% of the population is XXXXXXXXXXXL or larger and they bought all those larger size clothes so its infinite racks of size "M" and smaller that fit almost no one.
