No. I could be described as a software "engineer" in some aspects but that's not my title. I manage software developers and deal with hardware infrastructure. It's mostly retards.
A lot of these retards can be replaced by the language calculator in outputting software if you consider how much they cost versus the cost of augmenting a more experienced developer's workflow with it. The problem is that it usually generates retarded answers. You have to be experienced to understand what output is retarded and what isn't. So the job turns into more code review and steering it to output roughly what you want. Basically like a live code review of some retard who can barely function.
Like the sort of retard who thinks he's discovered new physics by chatting with a language calculator.

Physics is a field that attracts a lot of attention because the public has this perception of the lone genius like Einstein or Newton. The field tends to attract a lot of crackpots because they believe that if they just "think enough" they can go down in history too. But what they fail to acknowledge is the hundreds of years worth of experimental science that has gone into making physics an empirical science. For example: the idea of space warping from large objects predicts light bending. Einsteins general theory of relativity. But this theory can also be confirmed empirically by observing light bending during a solar eclipse.

We have many "models" that explain experimental data (with varying levels of success.) But these crack pots all seem to think they've come up with a new model that better explains the natural world than what exists. They have no understanding of the existing models, past experiments, or how the current field works. And most of the time their "theories" are nothing more than word games. Yet, they expect actual physicists to take their "work" seriously. And this really is a thing in physics, in particular.

So in this case, it seems like its some arrogant software engineer with above average IQ but enough delusion to think that he's made a break through that everyone else has missed. This kind of delusion (called delusions of grandeur) are also symptomatic of mental illness (like bipolar.) A claim that might have more wait is if he's built something that's more down to Earth. But with physics: the conditions to validate theories are either complex, specific, or beyond our current capacity to develop. So my guess is the guy is a crackpot and his wife is right to be worried. Quitting your job to chase a batshit theory is also a horrible decision and shows that he's not making rational decisions. If the theory were promising, he could simply release a paper without quitting his job (kinda like Einstein did?)

It's such a shame. We need to first learn hundreds of years worth of knowledge before actually formulating hypotheses. We can't be Aristotle or any kind of pioneers and that makes the whole field more gatekeeping.

Trying to use AI for therapy is so funny. It tells me to seek a therapist from time to time, gave me a suicide hotline number that was incorrect. At some point it tried to imply that suicide was the solution but was too cowardly to admit it.
