I did a low item run on hard mode, without the screw attack. In that case the game does indeed get quite hard, took me a couple weeks.
The brown toilet in the OP not only has a bunch of energy tanks, but doesn't even attempt to use the Ice Beam to freeze the rinka projectiles, not like it would be hard to figure out since you literally have to use it right before this fight in order to even get there.
