I broke my disc in a car accident and I have a problem with my left leg. I don't need a cane but it still hurts everyday. I don't even want a gf. I just want the pain to go away.

i have something like this. i think there's a slight physical reason behind the nerve sensations i get from my back and left side of body, but its mostly psychological. because when i am engrossed in things i don't feel it and i feel fine. however when i focus on the nerve sensations it becomes a problem.

>just read a book brah
if you're easily influenced and susceptible to placebo then yeah it might work
but so would healing rituals or praying

for some reason gullible people don't believe others aren't like them qnd they just need "a little faith"

Kind of makes sense, mindset is extremely powerful and like he said phantom limb pain exists. The brain also does exactly this when it comes to stretching, even more especially the sciatica nerve. It prevents you from bending in ways that your brain thinks your body can't handle, which often is true, but it also does not "update" until you prove that you can indeed safely bend that way and then it lets you do it effortlessly.

I wouldn't discredit this.

i think people underestimate how much just imagining stuff can fuck you up
one time i was sick for a couple weeks, i felt really ill, could barely even eat, even went to urgent care at some point, nothin wrong
it turned out i was just extremely stressed i think for no reason, probably about being sick
i just took half a xanax from a friend in order to force my brain to calm down and then the sick feeling just didn't come back

there are ways and means. if you don't give up, you'll find the solution

it seems you know little to nothing about placebo. even the pharmaceutical industry recognizes the value of placebo

Yeah I saw that. Not sure if legit or if Chris is entering his schizo-arc. Either way I'm just glad he's happy :)

a bit schizo, but also the thing about getting surgery and the pain migrates, or it doesn't help at all is true so if manifesting no back pain works good for him

For some people the pain is purely psychological. If you're a hypochondriac this would work but I don't think this would work for someone with a serious injury. In fact suggesting this to someone with a real serious problem is dangerous.
