>I had a dog and
Same, I miss the unconditional love and cuddling, but having to really watch them shut down near the end is too awful.

I would imagine people that are able to just get new dogs when old ones die either don't get too emotionally attached or are sociopaths
I live with the fuckin thing for 10-15 years if I'm lucky I can't imagine replacing that

Read the Dokkodo. Learn about Miyamoto Musashi. Read The Book of Five Rings. Learn about Mikiri and apply it to the challenges you will face. If you know how to defeat one man, you can beat 10 men. If you can beat 10 men, you can beat 100 men. Use Mikiri to reduce your problems to one man and cut them down accordingly. Recognize the warps in the wood of the house that is your mind. Learn to repair the warps one at a time until the house lays level and the walls straight.

Do not discard the lumber that is crooked; instead learn where you may make use of lumber that is crooked instead. Maybe you can use the crooked lumber with minor cosmetic defects to make yourself a nice table to remind yourself of the time you once were crooked and the journey you had set yourself upon to make straight your crooked lumber. Lastly, create yourself a blade and hone it's edge. Teach yourself to swing your sword, hope to never use it, but know how to use it. After all, it is your sword and who knows best how to swing it other than it's rightful owner. If you don't know how to swing a sword, you are not a threat so you must know how to swing a sword.

Trust the wisdom of your own knowledge. Learn to ride, to shoot straight, and speak the truth.

Unite the warrior and the scholar.

"The society that separates its scholars from its warriors will have its thinking done by cowards and its fighting by fools."

if you're mostly playing singleplayer, time to get the niggas together and find some shit to play. even bland ass cod is fun when it's you and a few friends. better suggestions would be shit like destiny with pve raids, or raft with building mechanics and co-op.

if you're playing multiplayer with or without friends, it's a bit more complicated. step away from it for a little while, maybe take a break for a week or so and play something totally different on your own time.

on a macro scale, look at what you're doing right now. are you employed and making decent money? if so, maybe now is the time to spend a little on experiences. i am tighter than the bark to a tree, but i've been doing a bit of that lately since it allows me to not feel like i'm basically a dead man walking through existence. pick up a relatively inexpensive hobby, even. just *do something*. anything that you have even a vague interest in, try to get into it if you can afford it.

are you not employed, but still stable (neeting)? unironically, get a job. no longer finding enjoyment in things you used to like is your brain and body telling you to be productive, it's as much a human need as food or water.

how about sunlight? go outside. my time on nights has taught me that sunlight is very much not optional. when you get direct sun for maybe 5 minutes a day, you start getting depressed very fast.

Go outside and try new things, meet new people, spin a wheel make it interesting, or go full schizo degenerate fuck a hooker, and then go assassinate pedophiles, CEOs, or corrupt politicians. Whatever you choose, just don't half ass it.
