because it's ILLEGAL. You aren't allowed to kill someone, even if they consent to it or sign a waiver. You can consent into doing dangerous activities like skydiving, but not outright murdering other people. Martial arts competitions get a pass because the aim is not to kill your opponent, there's several rules banning fatal techniques, the ref can and should stop the match when one fight is at serious risk, fighters who refuse to stop hurting their opponent when asked are banned immediately, and paramedics are on stand by. they need all that to be legally allowed to fight

Do people really think he means to make it actual fight to death?
Most likely it's just going to be LARP foam weapons with everyone having a gopro on them both for footage and to verify anyone cheating.
Maybe coated with something or whatever to leave marks on hit to further stop cheating.

That said, if he managed to find some island with no jurisdiction if there are any, some African country with a dictator that would let them do it for money or got a big enough boat for it then docked it in Sealand where the law would be really murky and they could get away with it, that would be extremely based.
Or just said fuck it and did it somewhere where they'll get persecuted anyway just to do it, though they'd probably have no participants.
Also obviously they'd have to increase the prize money way up for risking your life literally during the event and figuratively with the legal system afterwards.

It would be an awful thing to do still, since everyone participating would be doing so out of desperation somehow basically being forced into this shit by the current world systems only to benefit said system the most by providing profitable entertainment (which is why it'll probably happen for real sooner or later considering how the world is doing).
But it's one of those things where I will consider it an actual disgrace to mankind but in a way I would have to admire being this fucking bold about it.
