I want to die, but I fear what lies beyond my current state of consciousness.
I have every reason to believe that God is real and sadistic. We are hardwired to fear death even though it's inevitable for every living thing.

Since God hates me so much, I'm sure he has eternal torment planned for me. It leads to indecision.

I just want my consciousness to cease. I never asked for this.

We are hardwired to recognize the unknown. We fear it because it is agentless.
