The "nonchalance" you feel from attractive people is because they were given better default treatment growing up. It's not that hard to imagine things like facial attractiveness determine how people feel about you; and how things like height determine what people assume your abilities to be.
For the face it's like how people would treat a cat vs a really ugly dog.
For the ability it's like how deer hunters selectively breed large bucks and cull the smaller ones with smaller horns.
It's utilitarian mostly, face is for advertising, and height is for outright utility.
An ugly guy could make women feel good, but unless he has something very novel about him, IE insanely good personality (which requires a RARE brain to have in the face of ugly duckling treatment) or a lot of money (still won't lead to genuine feelings though)
For certain guys it's better to drop out. There's no point running in a race you weren't chosen for.
Even if you started sprinting now, you wouldn't catch up to the guys who have been running since their teens.
