Shipping girlies by a wide margin. Powerscaling is just dudes arguing on twitter about if someone could beat Goku or not. People become insane over shipping and harass the show runners for 'baiting' but not following through on certain ships.

shippers, power scalers are just obnoxious but you can tune them out while shippers are deranged and do deranged things. the fights are completely different. when power scalers disagree its MY GUY IS STRONGER THAN YOUR GUY and maybe they call each other retards, but shippers feel like they're being cucked by ships they dont like and take it personally. and the people who ship real people are even more insane

the average powerscaler is more annoying than the average shipper, but the worst 10% of shippers are infinitely more toxic than any powerscaler could ever hope to be.
that said, a healthy community needs some of both: moderate shippers to actually care about the characters beyond "hype moments and aura," and moderate powerscalers to provide funny posts and agenda like in /jjk/ and /dbs/.

Power scaling is arguably more "productive" and can be fascinating to speculate about, even though it's largely nonsensical and meaningless (it's all subject to the writer's imagination after all). Shipping is generally a losing battle, especially if the fans are arguing about a fictional series without official ships or with a designated love interest even if the character and the shipping is boring, with the shippers becoming borderline suicidal and making death threats if they don't end up having their way.

Power scaling has tangible statements and feats that end up derailing into childish arguments and/or the feats being glossed over and getting mild retcons at worst. Shipping has unhinged fandom wars and copium
